Alaska: Siberian Husky (M) 4 years – ADOPTED

ADOPTED!

Name: Alaska
Breed: Siberian Husky
Sex: Male (neutered)
Age: 4 years
Cats: Yes
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Yes

***CONTACT OWNER DIRECT. THIS IS A COURTESY POST***

Alaska is almost 4 and around 50-65lbs. He is great with kids and has been around them since he was a puppy, very tolerant of typical baby behaviour, and will attempt to leave situations that he doesn’t like.

Alaska does well with other animals, he isn’t typically aggressive but is extremely playful which some dogs don’t react well to. Alaska doesn’t show any food aggressive behaviours and is very food motivated for training.

Alaska does not walk well on a leash (he is a strong puller) and will require a strong leader to continue to work on training, he will follow some commands especially if there is food involved. Alaska would do best with a yard with a fence where he can run and play but the fence needs to be husky proof as he could take off if there’s something on the other side of the fence.

I haven’t had any luck curbing the jumping behaviours, however with training I’m confident it would happen. Alaska does have accidents when left alone for extended periods of time (10 plus hours) however this is a recent behaviour which I believe was brought on by not enough attention/outdoor exercise, as it only happens when I am out of the house. Alaska has not had crate training. He will lick his legs when he is bored, which can result in sores.

Alaska is neutered and microchipped.

Precious: Siberian Husky (F) 5 years – ADOPTED

ADOPTED!

Name: Precious
Breed: Siberian Husky
Sex: Female (spayed)
Age: 5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Older

Precious was appropriately named! She is such a Precious gem of a dog.

Precious has an awesome temperament and personality! She is very dog friendly and people friendly. She is a little bit sensitive about her fur/skin being grabbed, so kids would need to be respectful and not grab at her.

She is quite agile and is a very quiet girl for the most part. She does fuss a little bit in her crate if she needs out or when being left. She is crate trained, house trained, walks decently on leash and knows some basic commands. Sounds great, right? Her major flaw is that she is extremely toy/bone possessive with other animals. She is also nippy when told no if she is demanding attention, which she does a lot!

She has great fun out in the yard with humans, dogs or both. She is spayed, UTD on her vaccinations and is microchipped.

Precious will not last long, so don’t delay in sending in that adoption application for her!

ADOPTED!

Name: Luna
Breed: Husky mix
Gender: Female (spayed)
Age: 2 years (approx)
Cats: OK
Dogs: Yes
Kids: No

My husky Luna needs a new home. Luna is almost 2 (estimated).

Luna was a stray, I took her home last August. Luna needs a very special home. Someone with no kids as she’s never been around then & someone who likes to go on walks. She’s been good with dogs and cats.

Luna is very skiddish around new people, it took forever for her to gain my trust. Now she’s an everyday loving sweetheart around me. However, I am in school and Luna spends a lot of time in a crate lately because she gets anxiety and chews. Luna needs a home who has the time for her. Breaks my heart but it’s what is best for her.

I believe she’s spayed and she is up-to-date on vaccinations.

Hercules: Siberian Husky mix (M) 5 years – ADOPTED

ADOPTED!

Name: Hercules
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Gender: Male (neutered)
Age: 5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: No
Kids: No

Hi, my name is Hercules and I am baaaack!

I am back because the children in my neighbourhood are out of school and did not respect my property. Gosh, I hate children! I am a loving boy with adult humans, but I absolutely cannot stand children and cannot go to a home where there are children in close proximity or who visit my home.

I do guard my toys and food as well, but if I bring you my toy, let’s play! I love water and to go swimming at the beach or any other body of water. I am not a fan of other dogs or cats, so I need to be the only pet in the household.

I need a refresher on my obedience training and a strict diet and exercise program to be back to my ideal self. I am crate trained, house trained, and quiet in the home. I can be alone and am non-destructive for the most part. I do not dig or try to climb over fences.

I like it here at my foster home, but I really do want to settle down in one final forever home. Please don’t set me up for failure! I am neutered, microchipped, and up to date on my rabies vaccine.

Gunner: Siberian Husky (M) 1 year – ADOPTED

ADOPTED!

Name: Gunner
Breed: Siberian Husky
Sex: Male
Age: 1 year
Cats: No
Dog: Yes
Kids: Yes

Hello, my name is Gunner and I am a 1 year old male Siberian husky puppy. I was born in a house with cats and kids, adopted to a home with cats and kids, and recently returned to SHARP. I am not suitable for a home with cats. Not only do I get aggressive with cats, but it is definitely genetic in my litter to not be good with cats.

I am good with kids and other dogs, however. I know sit and down. I am very smart and learning very quickly how to walk well on leash. I am house trained. I am making great progress on my crate training and severe separation anxiety. I can be left for short periods of time (a few hours) in a crate as long as there is another dog near me (either loose in the room, or in an adjacent crate). I am very mischievous when left loose and love to clear off the kitchen counters or anywhere else where there may be food.

I am very much a puppy still and need an active home. It would be absolutely perfect if my forever home got me into obedience classes and/or other dog sports. I am not suitable for an apartment or a home without a fenced in yard. I escape tethers and break standard pet collars with ease. I come with a very sturdy collar that must be on me at all times. I come with a lifetime supply of this collar. If it wears out, just email the rescue and one will be mailed right away. I am microchipped and will be adopted on a neuter contract to be done when I am of age. My small umbilical hernia can be repaired during my neuter.

Missy: Siberian Husky (F) 9 months – ADOPTED

ADOPTED!

Name: Missy
Breed: Siberian Husky
Sex: Female (intact)
Age: 9 months
Cats: No
Dogs: No
Kids: No

Missy is a very nervous dog. She was bottom of the pecking order in her previous pack and was usually the one getting beat up outside when everyone went to play.

She is not good with cats or kids as she gets a little nippy when excited and playing or when scared. She loves people once she warms up to them, but is definitely not fond of other dogs. Greetings scare her. Do not walk up behind her.

She has a lot of energy and is very easily excitable once comfortable. She does have a problem with jumping up, typically worse when outside but not too bad in the house. Her upbringing in the pack environment she had has made her quite anxious but with a calmer home, she will do a lot better. She is a sweet dog, she will be one that needs a good amount of training though. She comes, sits and lays down when asked but sometimes if other dogs are around she is too concerned with what they might do and stops listening.

Missy is crate trained, but does exhibit separation anxiety. If startled, she will bark until calm again. Walks very well on leash. House trained. Not a digger or a fence climber. Missy is anxious when she travels in a vehicle and will drool heavily. Ideally, Missy will stay relatively local to avoid long travel.

Missy is microchipped and will be adopted on a strict non-breeding and spay contract to be completed after she is of appropriate age and also more relaxed and settled. Missy has just finished her first heat cycle.

With Ice’s Foundation – K9 rescue

Hi my name is Ronin, I’m a 5 year old malamute. I love to go for walks, take it easy at home – I don’t bark or howl much. I like meeting new people, I like kids and my bestie is a cat. I like being social and getting out to meet other dogs, love to be groomed.

I wander off leash so on leash is best for me. I’ve also lived inside, well pampered I’ve had a great life and a good up bringing. I listen well.

Unfortunately my owner is not well, she’s in a home being cared for, she has dementia and MS. She thinks I’m a handsome boy when she sees me and asks what my name is but I’m still happy to see her. I eat grain free salmon kibble, right now I’ve lost a little weight so I get little extra raw beef in my diet. I will be up to date with my shots and I’m fixed with no health issues, so I’m a pretty easy guy to settle into a new home, my birthday is November 13 and I’ll be 6.

Roscoe: Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute mix (M) 1½ years – ADOPTED

ADOPTED!

Name: Roscoe
Breed: Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute mix
Sex: Male
Age: 1½ years
Cats: Unknown
Dogs: Good
Kids: Good

Hi, I’m Roscoe and I am estimated to be around 1½ years old. I am a youthful, happy boy and I just want to be with you! I am house trained and I’m working on my crate manners, I settle after a minute or two.

As a young guy, I can jump when I’m excited, I just need some work on that. I walk decent on a leash, since I just love to be with you, I usually just follow, but if a smell intrigues me I may investigate  I am great with kids, they’re so much fun to play with and run next too. I am looking for an active forever home to help me burn off some of this excitement and energy. My forever human would ideally take me to obedience classes to teach me the manners I have not yet learned. I am very soft and love to be pet! You can do pretty much anything to me, I dont even protest being picked up. I am good with other dogs for the most part. I have not met a cat or other small animals. but wait?? Did you say food?? I love food, if you’ll share with me, I’ll take it ever so gently.

I am microchipped. I am intact and will be adopted on a strict neuter and non-breeding contract to be completed once I am more settled and less anxious. I do have an undescended testicle, so my neuter surgery will be more complicated.

Kulu and Blaze: Siberian Husky mixes (M) 1 & 2 years – BONDED PAIR – ADOPTED

ADOPTED!

Names: Kulu and Blaze
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 1 and 2 years
Cats: No
Dogs: OK
Kids: Older

Hello, we are Kulu (left) and Blaze (right) and we came into rescue total strangers a few months ago. We’ve since become fast friends whilst we’ve waited so long for our forever homes and we have now become very bonded together. We are a perfect match for each other in every way!

We are now seeking one home for the both of us. Siberians do better with a friend anyway, so why not take us both home?! We are both young, smart and capable of learning. We both know sit, and Kulu knows stay – as long as treats are involved! We both need work on our jumping and mouthing manners but we are just so excited to see foster mom we just can’t help ourselves! We do dig in the yard, but we are also happy to lay down and wrestle with each other. Neither of us like going in crates that much and will put up a fight, but once we are in we settle within a few minutes.

We are house trained. We cannot go to a home with small animals, including cats and small dogs. Children in the home should be 12 or older so we don’t accidentally knock them down with our excitement or mouth them too hard. We are both microchipped and Kulu (1 year) is up to date on all his vaccinations and neutered. Blaze (2 years) is not yet neutered and will be adopted on a neuter contract to be done once he’s more settled. We know finding a home for both of us together is difficult, but please, please consider us!  We are trying our best to be good boys, just give us time to settle in and watch us amaze you!

Loki: Siberian Husky mix (M) 14 months – ADOPTED

ADOPTED!

Name: Loki
Breed: Husky cross
Sex: Male, neutered
Age: 14 months
Cats: OK
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Yes

Loki is a lively 14 month old neutered boy who is up-to-date on vaccinations and has basic training.  He is socialised but due to very unfortunate family issues was surrendered and subsequently has had less attention and is starting with behavioural issues because of it.  This includes resource guarding such as food and toys so this would need working with and he would definitely need to be fed separately to start with as he did get into a fight because of it due to an inexperienced handler feeding him next to another dog.

He did spend an early part of his puppy life on a farm so is used to animals such as cats and birds, however, due to the recent behavioural issues we would not trust his natural prey-drive not to kick in now he is maturing. He gets along with kids and other dogs. He is a talker but not a loud barker, he has pushed boundaries with digging and would need a secure yard or dog run to avoid escaping acts.  Needs knowledgeable and firm owner to work with him. Obviously at this age, he has lots of energy so a good deal of exercise is also key to his training.
