Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Age: 9 years
Dogs: OK – see description
Hello, my name is Brutus! I am energetic and need an experienced, active forever human! I may be 9 years young, but I can still more than keep up with the most active of homes and pull you on leash. I am rather high strung and when I don’t get my way, I nip. Due to my high energy and anxiety nipping, I am not suitable to a home with young children. I have not met any cats, but it is highly unlikely that I will be good with cats, small dogs, or other small critters.
I have lived outdoors my whole life, so I need someone patient to teach me about house training, crate training (I’m better with plastic crates than wire), chilling out and everything else about a house. I am good with dogs, however, I am the school yard bully. My canine companion needs to be tolerant of my pushy, loud, obnoxious behaviour. I do resource guard, even water, from other dogs. We would need to meet before I can go home and make sure we are OK together.
Due to my separation anxiety, I can be very loud and also destructive, living up to my name. I do like to dig when outside. I have recently had a small operation to remove a cyst from my back. I actually broke out of my crate at the vet office but I was a bit scared being there. I am not neutered. I will be adopted on a strict no breeding contract due to my age. I am microchipped. I am located in Tweed, ON and in lieu of an adoption fee, a donation towards my care is greatly appreciated.
